Bus Update
One month bus update! We had to contend with aggressive loose dogs, cops with assault rifles in my front yard, 14hr+ supply trips, and inclement weather, but we got the seats out! We did our final interior measurements and I'm working on the build blueprint next.
We're also chipping away at the decals and sanding tasks in little bursts between everything else going on when the weather lets us. We're going to have to do the whole exterior surface for paint!
We've also secured our new studio fixtures! It took two 14hr round trips on separate days to Austin and Dallas, but we were able to get what we needed before it was discontinued (and some of it was on sale)!
And we scoured the sides of the rural highways to salvage abandoned and lost traffic cones to practice our serpentine maneuvers and backing up the bus! We will have to do the conversion and the new paint before we can register and insure it for long-term driving.
Our next goal is to get the wall, ceiling, and floor materials. The sooner we can get the insulation boards the better, because the ones we budgeted for have jumped in price from $18 each to $24 each (and we need 48 for the whole thing). And now we have another 600mi round trip to make :/
But that's why we're doing this, after all. This month has been a really good example of how stressful and chaotic life can be here, and why it's so important that we succeed with this project.
