Spring Updates

It's been a rough few months. I don't have a cute way to say that the stress we have been under has been destroying us. Between an underwhelming reception of the feline pattern, the rising costs of living in a food desert, and unexpected medical expenses, we have been stretched to the absolute limits. Add more stress from our state trying to criminalize our existence, looming taxes, and a stalled escape plan, and honestly it broke us. We separated for a few weeks, but that's not what either of us wants to do. We want a chance to be together and not be crushed by the boot of life. We are desperate for a real chance to be free to be our true selves with each other!

In the meantime, we have to survive. Kiki's been working on the shop orders, and I've been working on paw orders. The pattern I made for the wolfpack was a dud, and I have resculpted everything, repatterned, and made a new pawpad and thumbclaws mold, and have a set fully sewn with pawpads in. I need to anchor the internals and install the claws, but this is exactly what I had in mind and I'm much happier with the new shape. Now I can get the remainder of the paw orders prepped and get to work.

We've also been working on sewing for Charm, but it's been a bit of a learning curve and unfortunately those seams had to be ripped out and redone due to tension issues. The bodysuit and tail will need to be repinned and resewn. Frustrating, but it's worth the effort to make it right. In the process of troubleshooting this issue, I discovered a much better way to describe what ease is and how to work with my patterns, which I'm excited to share once I get it edited down! Gotta cling to those silver linings sometimes :'3

Part of what we've been working on is refreshing all of the production molds and shrinking our legacy claws for the downsized paws. Periodically the molds need to be replaced after several months of use, and they all failed on the same day. Luck of the stars, I guess. I re-engineered the feline moldsets to hopefully speed up the production process by reducing the editing required for each individual claw casting made.
